Recipe for the best beef stew

The first thought in my head as soon as the temperature drops below 60 is to start making stews and soups for the winter time. I love this type of meal because its warm and hearty and delicious. Beef stew is one of my absolute favorite meals. There are so many variations. I like a lot of meat in mine, and a deep rich beef flavor. I am always looking for new recipes to try, and this fits these criterion quite well. Start with seasoned and lightly floured beef, you can achieve this by placing it all in a bag and shaking it up until well coated. Place it in a pan with a little oil and sear it, remove the meat, and cook the onions as well. After the meat and onions are placed in the crockpot, deglaze the pan with some of the cooking liquid. This recipe calls for a demi-glace which gives an amazing deep rich flavor.
